Short tour summary
Day 1: We go to Van City Airport and Hotel - visit to the cat house and Van Castle.
2 Days: Trip to Akdamar island and transfer to our hotel in Hakkari.
3 Days: We camp in Berçelen plateau.
4 Days: Seyithan lake walk, 3400 meters
Day 5: Waterfalls tour day
6 Days: Heaven and Hell valley walk
7 Days: Sat glacial lakes trip
Day 8: We are going to the camping area for Cilo Reşko Mountain.
Day 9: Reşko Mountain summit day and return to the camping area, 4135 meters
10 Days: Hakkari city tour
11 Days: Return to Van City, free time
12 Days: Airport send-off
Hakakri Cilo- 12 Day
Day 1: Welcoming the guests at Van airport and going to the hotel.
In the afternoon, we visit Van cat house and Van castle.
Day 2: After breakfast, we go to Akdamar island, which is 60 km away from the city center. (We go to the island, which is in the middle of Lake Van, by boat. We visit the island and the Church of the Holy Cross on the island.)
Then we return to our vehicle and set off for our hotel in Hakkari city center. (About 3 hours)
Day 3: After having breakfast at the hotel, we get to our car and go to our camping area on the Berçelan plateau, which is 2 hours away from the city center. (After setting up our tents, we can have free time and take a walk to explore the campsite.)
Day 4: After having breakfast at our camp, we start the trekking around 9 o'clock in the morning. After 3-4 hours, we arrive at Seyitxan Lake at 3500 meters. We will have a rest break there for an hour. Anyone who wants can swim in the lake. The lake has cold but healing water. Then, we set out to go down to the campsite. After two hours of threkking, we arrive our camp and rest. (Free time and dinner.)
Day 5: We have breakfast at the campsite and return to our hotel in the city. After leaving our equipment at the hotel, our trip to the waterfalls starts at 9:00. We visit Kaval Waterfall, Avahore Waterfall and Ağaç-dibi Waterfall and then we return to our hotel in the city center. (Free time in the evening.)
Day 6: After breakfast, we start the trekking to the Heaven and Hell valley, which is 45 km away from Hakkari city center and has a unique view. We arrive at the plateau at the entrance of the valley by car. The trekking time in the valley takes approximately 4-5 hours. Then we arrive at the thousands of years old glaciers and glacier waterfalls at the end of the valley. After taking a break here for an hour, we return to where our vehicle was. Approximately 3 hours later, we arrive at our hotel in the city center and finish the day. Our friends who wish can go to the entertainment center at night.
Day 7: After breakfast at the hotel, at 08.00 or 09.00 a.m, we set out by car towards the twenty-thousand years old Sat glacial lakes and waterfall located at an altitude of 3400 meters. After about 2 hours, we arrive at the area where the lakes are located. First, we set up our kitchen tent and then we start the trekking to explore the region. After the trekking, we rest for a while. After eating our meal, we return to Hakkari city center.
Day 8: After having breakfast at our hotel, we set out for Cilo Reşko Mountain (4135 m), the second highest mountain in Turkey. First, we drive for about 1-2 hours. Then, after a 4-5 hours of trekking, we arrive at the campsite. We go to the camping area and set up our tents. (Later, we can have free time and a small sightseeing tour.) Finally, we have dinner and rest.
Day 9: We wake up at 4 in the morning, have breakfast and set off around 5 to reach the Reşko summit. After about 6 hours, we reach the 4135 meter peak. After taking a 30-minute break at the summit, we return to the campsite. We arrive at the camp after 2 or 3 hours. We stay at the camp for the night.
Day 10: After having our breakfast at the camp, we go to the city center. We settle into our hotel and rest for a while. We take a short trip in the afternoon. We visit Hakkari madrasah and Hakari museum and go to Seyir Hill. We take a coffee break at the cafe here. Then, if we are lucky, we will be a guest at a local wedding in the city center and get to know the local people. Then, after having dinner in the city center, we go to our hotel. Our friends who wish can go to the entertainment centers in the city.
Day 11: After having breakfast at the hotel, we leave the city and go to our hotel in Van. (We can visit the city center in the afternoon.) After dinner, we return to our hotel.
Day 12: We go to the airport, send our guests off and finish our tour.
